Does A+ certification allow me to touch a mac as well? I didn't think so but as I'm reading through my book right now, it goes into mac stuff.

No, the general Mac OS information that you might come across in the A+ cert exam does not extend to allowing you to perform warranty repairs on Apple equipment.
Much of the same hardware techniques used to repair any PC can be relevant to Macs as well. The Apple police won't come out if you open up a Mac, and perform repairs. A Mac is not so different that an experienced tech can't figure things out. There's nothing to prevent you from doing a repair if you can get the parts, and you have some experience in repairing other computers. Now, if you want credit for a warranty repair, or reimbursement for an eligible in-warranty repair, then you, or someone employed at your business, must be Apple-certified to order parts from Apple, or to complete repairs. Otherwise, the customer's Mac would not likely be covered in warranty after that repair, especially if there was damage caused by the repair, or replacement parts were
Apple urged me to get A+ cert about 10 or 12 years ago, but then Apple requires techs employed at an Apple store, or an Apple AASP to complete Apple's annual hardware certification that gets very detailed about new models of both desktop and portable Macs. There's separate exams for both, and also a third one for OS X
