Hi all

I have a iBook SE running OSX 10.1.5. I've a few questions.

I cant get a modem dial sound. Works fine in OS9

Can you get a display of time on line anywhere other than the Internet Connect window?

How come I can get some of my SMB servers into the favorites section of 'go to server' but not others?

regards

Modem dial sound can be switched on and off in the system prefs, under network. Show modem in the Show drop-down, then pick the modem tab. Sound is off by default.

As for display of time online, I'm pretty sure the only timer I've seen is in the Internet Connect window ... its been some time since I used modem. There may be a third-party app that gets around this.

As for the Samba servers, I can't really help you ... not something I know.

For the servers, a good workaround is to create a folder called "Servers" or whatever you would like and then Command+Option drag the mounted servers to the folder to make Aliases... this will allow you to have double click access to them.

I put the folder in the dock, and now I can click and hold to get a menu of all my servers, I simply release the mouse on the one I want to connect to.
