A good printer for X

I'm looking for a printer that's around $100-$150 and is pretty good for photo-printing. Nothing spectacular, but I'd like to be able to print out digital pictures that look decent. I don't know much about printers, but I've only used an HP so that's the brand I'm leaning towards.

How are Canon or Epson printers? Anyone have a good suggestion of what I should at? Thanks!
 
My Epson Stylus Color 740 was really fantastic at printing photo quality images on glossy paper.

I recently got a Epson Stylus Color 777, and the specs only seem to be better, so I would recommend this. Of course, if you're printing photos exclusively, you should probably get a printer specifically designed for that.
