a good scanner

hey everyone,

my dad has a large photograph collection. for xmas I want to buy him a scanner to scan the photos onto the computer. can anyone recommend a really good one. and only a scanner, not a 3-in-1 system. thanks!

I have used my hp scanjet for years and have scanned 100's of old snapshots onto my mac.

What I love about mine is the bed is 8.5"x14" which lets me scan more photos at one time. Once your dad has his pictures on the computer a great idea is to make a slide show and burn them to CD.
