A ridiculous PHP/XML project...

Hello hello. I am working on creating a very very simple XML parser in PHP. It will load an XML file and return it as an array, and and array within that array and another within that, if the particular file so requires.

It doesn't seem like a horribly difficult concept (I say without having the first clue as to what I'm doing [or that much PHP experience]). Does anyone know of anything similar that already exists?

Yes, I saw those while looking around for information, but it's all very confusing. I should probably note that I have pretty much no idea what I'm doing.

I've found some JavaScript that looks like it might do something similar to what I want...

I haven't really gotten a chance to plau with it yet, but i think this is exactl what I'm looking for.

No overly-ambitious-project-that-I-will-never-ever-complete for me after all.
