Access Control Lists and Leopard problem

So under Tiger I used Access Control Lists to share iTunes, iPhoto and iBank between my wife's account and mine (we could both add songs, edit pictures, enter transactions, etc and the other person would also have the same changes when they opened the program later). To do so I put all the relevant files in /Users/Shared/<some application subfolder> and used Sandbox to enable access control lists for that subfolder and all its contents. Then I made symlinks to those files in each user's home folder.

Once I upgraded to Leopard they're not working. ITunes seems to want to create a new iTunes Music Library.xml for my wife even though there's a perfectly good symlink. In iBank she can see changes I made but can't edit them.

I suspect something's awry with the ACL. But I don't know how they might have changed in Leopard. Any thoughts?
