Accessing FTP servers from the Finder error -43

Hi to all !
I'm a new french member to this forum, but I own Macs since 1989...
I have a little issue, and I know that I'm not alone with this problem : We can normally access to FTP servers from the finder through command+k, and the first time we connect, we're asked the login/password which is stored in the keychain. Alas, since I've several accounts on a ISP server, there're probably a mismatch with the logins, and I receive a superb -43 error when I try to log in. Adding the user account before as "user@ftpserver.com" won't solve the problem.
Does anybody have a hint for this problem ?

The built-in FTP features of OSX are quite limited, you've run into just one of them.

The best thing you can do is download a real FTP program. Transmit from Panic.com is by far the best, in my opinion. If your budget does not permit the purchase of an application, there are several free FTP programs available as well. You can search macupdate.com for FTP to get a list of your options.
 
Thanks for your response MacGizmo ; I already have several FTP programs such as Transmit, cyberDuck. But my aim was to cron a automator script within the finder itself to backup a ftp server. I guess I'll have to do it through Transmit, with all the scripts available with the automator dictionary given with the last release. Or maybe better; using rsync and the crontab to do it... even if I don't consider myself ass a geek :-)
 
Perhaps Applescript would be a solution... I don't know much about Applescript, other than the OS is scriptable, so you **should** be able to do what you want.
