Accidental loss of folder

I was copying my iPhoto library to my external hard drive. I got a notice saying something like operation could not be completed as there were locked items. So, I stopped the transfer.

I know find that I have somehow deleted my entire iPhoto library. I've searched my trash, the trash files on the external hard drive, done all kinds of search and nothing.

Any suggestions on where the files might be? I'm not usually a moron, but seem to be here.

I'm using a iBook G4 operating on OS X 10.4.11 (can't wait to upgrade)

Here are a few options:
1. Do a simple search (Command + F) and type in a title you remember.
2. Download and run EasyFind
3. Download the demo version of DataRescue II and run it . If it finds the files, you can either retrieve them manually, or purchase the license and run the full version of DataResuce II.
