Acquisition

I have a macbook that is about one and a half years old. It runs on Tiger and I just downloaded Acquisition. I got the new version and tried to search for a song multiple time but it says I am connecting to a network but never gets in. The symbol is a red dot with a white line through it. My brother has successfully used acquisition on an eMac and I'm not sure what the problem might be. Any ideas?

You might want to blame your internet provider (IP). There's a "movement" afoot to block peer-to-peer apps due to the great bandwidth it takes. Some do, some don't.

How does one open the ports? I am having a similar problem, only I also am getting totally kicked offline anytime I open acquisition.

Had this happen to me and came across, (on Acquisition Help I believe), something that solved it for me:

Trashing your ~/Library/Application Support/Acquisition/gnutella.net file may (or may not) have a positive effect.

Hope this works for you.

OK, all of the sudden I cannot connect? It says connecting? What's the deal? I have tried contacting Acquisition, but here's a big surprise... with no response!!! Another company that takes your money, but not care about you beyond that!!! Why can I not connect????
