ACS33 Altec Speakers Not Working

I recently had to deinstall my computer and the periperhals and upon re installing all worked fine except my speakers which were working prior. Any suggestions? I have a G4...could it be an internal setting as I have checked all connections.
 
Are they plugged into the correct port on the back of the computer? It's easy to confuse the microphone port with the speaker port, if your G4 is older.

Also, in the "Sound" pane of the System Preferences, under "Output," is the correct output selected?
