Active Directory Web Authentication in Panther Server

I've got Panther Server running, bound to an Active Directory Domain, and I'm trying to use domain accounts for realm authentication under Apache. Local accounts work fine, but none of the AD accounts I've added will authenticate. I'm running 10.3.9 with apache 1.3.x (whatever the current version is for that version of Panther Server). I'm eventually hoping to phase out the use of local accounts in favor of AD accounts, to simplify things for my users. Any insights on this matter would be helpful. Let me know if you need more info.
