Address via IP: Safari vs Chrome

I have been using Safari to access my router's web page via an address something like http://1.2.3.4. When I use Chrome, it behaves like a Google search and shows me a list of possibly related external sites.

Does anyone know how to make chrome stay on the local network?
 
Nevermind. The real address is http://1.2.3.4:80. I suppose Safari remembered this from long ago, but Chrome is sort of new.

I recently made Chrome my default browser because Safari got worse (for me) daily.
