I was 'fiddling' around with my file folders trying to get things organized when I noticed a folder named JOSH and decided to rename it Joshua. Unfortunately this folder was a duplicate (i believe) of my USER profile. A little while later I realized what I had done... all my preferences reset, the installed apps were gone from the doc, and the 'welcome to the mac' config display movie started playing.
Thankfully, all my important docs are now in a folder located on the harddrive as JOSHUA. This includes my installed and downloaded applications, my work documents, my mail login information to access my job's POP server, and tons of music and photos. In the meanwhile I am going to transfer my important docs back over to an old PC and try to get the mail program running again but I am in a real bind.
I attempted to fix this on my own and created a THIRD profile. This is where I realized what happened. Now I am pretty much stuck.
Is there a way to restore this folder as the main user?
Appreciate any help or thoughts on what to do now.
