Adobe 9 black background

I'm running OSX 10.5.8, installed adobe 9. Now while surfing using Safari some pages load automatically into adobe pdf, but background is totally black, with yellow text. Very annoying. Why can't I just use Apple's Preview as my pdf utility? When I save pdf files they now save into adobe 9 format, can I convert those to Apple's Preview format? Thanks.

Hi

Ok first you need to remove the AdobePDf plugin here-
/Library/Internet Plug-ins/AdobePDFViewer.plugin
Once this is removed Safari should revert back to the preview method in Safari.
Click once on a pdf in the finder, select command I and change the 'Opens with' section back to preview. Click change all.
That should sort it.

Hi, thanks for responding.

I removed AdobePDFViewer.plugin.

I then clicked on a pdf file from the finder. It opened the document into Adobe Reader 9.2, still black background with yellow text. I typed command I but nothing happened, so I looked through the menus but could not find it and could not find "opens with."

Any suggestions? Thanks.

When you click the pdf file in the finder, only do it once, so it selects the file not opens it. Once selected in the finder, press command I to open the finder's get info window, here you can change the 'opens with' section to preview.
