adress book & iCal

Can the birthdays I have in adress book be displayed in iCal so that I won´t forget them?

So if it can't do that simple task, what can iCal do and what can't it do?

I had assumed it was similar to the old Claris Organizer (which was later rebranded as Palm Organizer) and could show most things, including recurring dates, daily and hourly scheduling - all linked to an address book.

I'm wrong then, am I?

I think it's annoying too, that iCal doesn't import addressbook birthdays, but I guess they need stuff to put in updates...
