Hello folks.
A couple of years back during the days I was on the PC/Windows platform, I had a program called DivxFix (or something), that allowed me to check if the 4,7Gb file(s) I downloaded really was the right one I needed -without spending more than, say, 150Mb of the download process.
To put it straight, does anyone know of any such program, or similar functionality, for MacOS X (PowerPC)? I'd really need it. No, Divx Converter can not "convert" it because the .avi file is not complete. We're dealing with the divx codec here.
Sure, I get a preview of like 5 seconds in VLC and QuickTime, but it's still too soon to tell. And since I've downloaded over 500Mb's of the files in question, I'm convinced I can get a preview out of them that would allow more than a couple of seconds. I'd like to save Gb's of download time.
If anyone know, please respond.
