I'm running os x server 10.5 and have the dns service enabled and working. My problem though is when trying to access another computer using afp by an unqualified name the connection takes about 10 seconds to establish. Using the fully qualified dns entry or the ip the connection is practically instant. Any thoughts? As a side note, from the same computer pinging the other computer using the unqualified name is also instantaneous...
