Hi,

I just installed the openafs client for Tiger. everything seemed to go well but, when I reboot and log in, the screen fades to black and I get a message saying "You need dto restart your computer. Hold down the Power button for several seconds or press the Restart button"
No keyboard or mouse response.

Can I reboot into safe-mode? I just need to remove the afs client before I get this error at login.

If it's crashing at login, then reboot holding down the Shift key after the startup chime until you get to the login screen. That'll get you into safe mode and won't load any third-party applications or services at login.

Make sure you remove anything in the /Library/StartupItems (at the root level & in your user folder) and delete all instances of the AFS client via a Spotlight search (little blue magnifying glass in the upper right hand corner)
