AIM for Mac closes

Whenever I try to use AIM for Mac it closes. It stays open as long as I don't IM anyone but soon after I IM someone it closes. Is there any way to fix this?

I usually use Adium because of this problem but I don't think you can send pictures through Adium using direct connect which is why I'd prefer to use AIM.

Edit: I figured out how to send images using Adium so I'll just use that.

Are you using an intel-Mac? The PowerPC-only version of AIM (There is no universal yet I believe) is very unstable on Intel machines, and will crash, quit, or hang. Seen a lot of complaints about it. Using Adium or iChat is your best bet, like you said.

I had trouble sending pics with Adium as well. You have play around with the settings, and firewall I believe to get it to work. Overall, I use iChat.
