Aim

If this is on an OS X machine, why are you using it when you could use iChat or AdiumX?

If it's on OS 9, have you tried allocating enough memory to it so that it doesn't run out and crash from lack of allocated memory? Remember that in OS 9 and below you have to manually allocate how much memory (minimal and preferred, or maximum) and application will use. You might also want to trash the preferences file for AIM in Macintosh HD-->System Folder-->Preferences.

Mac model?, System / MacOS X version?, AOL Instant Messager version?, type of internet connection (phone line or broadband [cable or DSL - include manufacturer and model of modem; as well as, if Ethernet or USB connection])?, ISP?, Shoe size?, Eye color?, Mother's maiden name?, Social Security (or equivalent) Number?

Ok, ok - how about just providing the first five expected bits of information?

Added at 13.54, and based on 'AIM' version 4.7.

Then there is that 'AIM's 'AIM, Preferences...' menu item's 'Preferences' window's 'Connection' button's 'Reconnect automatically if the connection is unexpectedly lost' check box.
