Airport and PC's

Somewhere... dunno though
I currently have an all Windows PCI Phoneline Home Networking system in my house. Since I'm switching to Mac, I would like to put all the other Windows computers (possible 2 laptops and 1 desktop) on my AirPort network. Is this possible and how? Apple.com isn't helping much and I can't find any other help.

Thanks in advance!

I use an Airport Base Station with a couple Mac laptops and a PC laptop (using a Netgear 802.11b card) and it works fine.

could anyone else help explain how I would do that? like, how I would configure it and set up? the laptop wouldn't be that hard since it's on Windows 2000 and it recognizes anything. The other is Windows ME and the the Desktop is Windows 98 Second Edition. i'd be connecting a Cable connection (AT&T Broadband Internet) to it.

any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

There isn't a whole lot to explain...just the hardware (802.11b card) should come with drivers - that allow you to connect with the same settings as the base station. (i.e. channel, network name, speed, WEP encryption type, etc.)

I had this working with ME and it now works with 2000 server.

If you use the latest AirPort base station it acts as the DHCP server and hub and will serve up IP addresses to all of your systems.

It really isn't brain surgery...its actually is quite easy to configure.

BlingBling - have you already bought an Airport Base Station? If not I'd highly recommend not buying one. I'm posting this message via a wireless connection from my G4 with an Airport card and a Linksys Wireless Router (Base Station), which is considerably cheaper (around $100 cheaper) and does an awesome job.

I currently have Windows XP, Windows ME and Windows 98SE boxes (roommates' computers) connected to the router (via cables) and everything works flawlessly. I've also wired a Windows 2000 box to it before and had a wireless PC hook up at the same time as me. 128-bit wireless encryption even works. All for around $200 instead of $300.

Of course, an Airport Base Station might look a little cooler, and that could be a factor, but is it worth that much? I'm sure there are other options out there as well besides LinkSys too. Let me know if you have any questions:

Thanks for the advice, although since I have no idea what i'm doing most of the time, I need instructions to be extremely detailed and simple... i.e. Plug Ethernet cord from Cable Modem into [Product], load software, put wireless card in machine, set them up, enjoy! is the linksys that simple? is the airport that simple?

and it MUST be wireless... no cords will work ever... sorry, it's not an option...
