Airport base station compatible with Linux OS?

I want to connect both my iMac G3 and this old PC with Linux Blue Katana onto the same DSL line so I can be online simultaneously. I first need to purchase some type of networking system, and I was considering an Airport base station I found on eBay.

Should this work, or does anyone have any other suggestions?

'Should this work' - yes. Apple's Airport is a wireless router. Using Airport's LAN connector to connect two computes will require an Ethernet switch.

'... any other suggestions' - you can use any other wired / wireless router, as well.
