Airport doesnt auto join after update

I updated my airport software yesterday through software update and my computer no longer automaticaly joins a network when woken from sleep or when the airport card is turned on. Both networks that I connect to use WEP and when I manually joined each of them I had to re-enter my wep key even though they had previously been stored in my keychain. I did select to store them in my keychain again this time.

Has anyone else experienced this and know if it is fixable?
 
Go to the Utilities folder>Disk Utility and verify and repair permissions. This should correct things so it looks at keychain automatically.
 
I'm not optimistic that this will work since my keychain files (~/Library/Keychains/) have permissions set to be readable by everyone and writeable only by me.

I tested it anyways and it had no effect. I have discovered that telling it to join a specific network and typing the wep password along with it (in the airport system prefs) that it will auto join that network.

However, this wont work for my network at home becuase my wep doesnt use a password but instead seems to required me to type in a 128bit hex key instead which I dont believe will work in the same password field (since it isnt the password). This is because my wireless router is linksys and doesnt seem to accept wep passwords. Only the keys generated by them.
 
had the same happen here on my iBook. the update to 10.3.3 (not publicly available yet) will solve the problem as far as I can see.
