airport extreme and hp7550 printer?

I hope someone can help me I have a powerbook 15" running panther 10.3.2, and an airport extreme, the powerbook has the old airport card since it is not extreme ready, but I have an hp 7550 photosmart printer, I can get it to work the the powerbook just fine, as long as I have it plugged directly into the computer, but I can not get it to work at all if I conect the printer to the airport base. help me please, I really like this printer and would hate to have to buy a different one, and oh by the way my printer is not on Apples list of supported printers for the airport.
