After years of successfully using CallVantage VOIP I was "forced" to switch providers and chose ringcentral.com. They provided me with a Linksys SPA 2102. With CV I had the TA (Dlink DVG-5102S) hooked up between the cablebox and the AE and was getting excellent voice quality and data throughput. Replacing the Dlink with the new Linksys downgraded the data download throughput by half. I therefore resorted to putting the TA after the AE and voila, got my data througput back to what I was expecting ~14MB down/8MB up, so:
Cablebox->Apple Extreme->Linksys SPA2102
I know that AE does not provide any QOS settings, so will my Voice traffic be negatively affected?
I can change the QOS settings on the TA, but I honestly do not know what they mean and also, will it matter since it is behind the AE?
Should I really have the TA in front of the AE and change some settings to improve the data throughput?
