Don't Tread on Me!
I hope someone can help me with this question. I have a TiBook and I just installed my airport card and I'm running OSX. First question, can I connect to a wireless network other than an airport base station?
If so, how can I get my airport card to connect to the linksys wireless network at work. When I open up the airport setup assistant it just says gathering airport information and hangs at that point. When I check out the airpot card under the Network portion of system prefs, it is getting the correct IP address from the wireless network but I can't get anything to connect over this connection. When I reboot, it just defaults back to Internal Modem instead of the Airport card settings I set in in the Network Preferences. So far it seems to me that the airport card is receiving the wireless IP but OSX won't let the airport card function unless it is connecting to an Airport Base Station. Any ideas?
