Airport Lost Signal

Howdy
Ok so my airport card is getting a great signlal from the router (not an apple one) but i keep loosing the signal after long down times. Like when i went to work today, i let my coputer sleep and when i got home i had no signal. But last night i went to sleep and woke up with a signal. Do routers or DSL modems fall asleep? It seems that if i unplug everything and plug it back it that it all works again. It's happen twice in the two day's i've had it.

Weird.

Thats not weird. It's a fact of using wireless internet. And is it really that hard to go to the airport icon and choose your network?

I don't have anything set up. I just pluged in the DSL box and router and was on. I just don't understand why it works great while i'm here but when i leave it looses a connection. Then i unplug the DSL box and plug it back in and i'm in biz.

I've got the same problem. But only my powerbook does it whereas my other two computers don't. I think its because the powerbook goes back and forth to other wireless networks so I have it set for Join Network With Best Signal, while the other computers are set to Joing my specific network. Maybe that will fix your problem. However my father has a newer Powerbook and he doesn't seem to have this problem when switching networks. His signal seems to connect whenever he's in range compared to me having to go to the menu and choose the network.
