airport on 3Com wireless?

I already have a 3Com wireless - WiFi - network at home, and was wondering if I could use the Apple Airport card in my iBook and use it alongside my other machines?

You should be able to all Wi-Fi devices are supposed to ba able to work together no matter who makes the card or base station.
