Alias causes duplicate emails in Mail 2.1.3

Email A is my main real email account. Email B forwards to Email A, Email B being the alias.

My objective is to be able to send or reply to email sent to Email B using Email B as the From address the recipient sees.

Below I use Email A and Email B instead of an email address for illustration purposes. Here's what I have done:

Following the Mail Help instructions, I setup the account for email A and under Preferences > Accounts > Account Information > Email A > inserted Email A, Email B in the Email Address field, separated by commas as instructed.

I activated the account. This seems to be necessary to allow Email B to show up as a selectable option when sending email.

Now I get duplicates of all email in Email A's inbox, regardless of which email address the sender used.

Mail will not allow multiple accounts using the same server, account ID or password info.

Is there a better way to accomplish this?

I posted this problem in another thread, but was told it didn't belong there.
