all icons are gone!!

Help!!

There was nothing wrong today when I started.
Downloaded new version of Limewire and now most of my icons are gone. Besides that I cannot drag and drop anything anymore. What's wrong??

did as you suggested, worked.
Now I have no more limewire.

Other ideas?

When I've had the same thing happen to me in the past, this is what's worked for me, YMMV.

First, I start up from a maintenance partition and use disk util to repair permissions.

Second, I use OS X's version of Disk First Aid.

Finally, I boot into OS 9 and use the latest 2.n version of Disk Warrior (proud paid owner, btw). These three steps usually fix it for me till the next time some b-tree gets messed up or something else goes wrong.

BTW, I mostly notice this after installing any software, NOT just limewire btw <vbg> HTH

One thing to realize is Jaguar Finder = VERY BUGGY.

I get icons disappearing all thje time. Some lose associated icons. Very annoying. Quit Finder, relaunch. It works.

Oh, I have LimeWire installed. It doesn't make a difference. It's a fluke. Coincidence.

If Panther's Finder is this buggy, it'll be a disaster.
