AlphaSmart Updater and OS X?

I'm going to get one of these, and luckily, it will print directly to my Epson 777.

I was wondering if anyone else has come across these (NOT the Dana model) and knows of any worksarounds or 3rd party drivers to update (i.e., synchronize & transfer text) an Alphasmart 3000 on an OS X machine over USB, or any other workarounds (like IR for example).

They've not yet responded to my inquiry by email, I don't imagine they get very many questions about OS X drivers

Also wanted to mention that it's got 700 hours of battery life on 3 AA batteries. That's one straight month of use never turning it off.

I wish my iPod had battery consumption like that
