alternative for software update

I have a pb pismo and only use it at home and I can only connect to the internet using a 56k modem

So using the software update is not really an option for me, I remember downing the latest update and it was 14mb.

In desperation I took my pb to the office one day and hooked it up to the network. I was told this action was not appreciated.

I would love to download the updates at work, burn it to cd and then install it at home

apple no longer offers this but are there other sites out there that do?

I've gone to www.versiontracker.com and gotten *.dmg versions of the updates before. I think they are all released like that for people that are in your situation or want to have backups of the updaters. I think you can get to this from apples downloads area.

I managed to download the update file

it's a shame you cannot browse the download area so you have to know the name of the file and the exact location.

up to the new dvd player (another 15mb)

I will check version tracker first
