Always Open With not sticking

Hi All,

Hoping someone can provide a quick answer on this one:

I'm having trouble getting the 'Always Open With' option to stick when I open a file with an application other than the default for the file type. I check the box, yet when I come to reopen the file at a later time it still tries to use the original application. I'm running OS X v10.4.7.

Thanks and any help offered much appreciated.

Hm.... try selecting the file in a Finder window, then open Info (-i). In that window, "Open with" part .. change the application there. Does it now stick?
