Amazing thing about the new iMac, Im overjoyed!!!

The low end version of the new iMac has 24x Cd-RW in it, thats right kids 24x. This is one of the top of the line burners on the low end machine. This is truly amazing, why doesnt Apple market this more.

wow the low end iMac is a great value, even better than most Wintels. Apple has been improving their products' value lately, i noticed. Very cool.

however...

in the eyes of a potential buyer (typical PC buyer) $1299 seems really high compared to a $699 dell or a $799 compaq...

I think Apple still needs to market the old style iMac and drop the price another $100 on it to cover the lowend market. A $650 iMac in Snow only would sell like crazy!

when I first heard about this thing I just figured it would be about a standard 10X Drive. I am truly shocked to find that they are incorporating a 24X drive. I already own the Superdrive iMac and I absolutly love it. This has given me the inccentive to purchase the low end Model.
