Animated Desktop?

Hello

This is my first post. I am very excited about all that. Any ways this is my question. Is there an application or any little trick that would allow me to have an animated desktop wallpaper?

I searched this forum before posting, and found only one instance when this was asked back in 2000 and there was no solution. (In fact that search on yahoo is what lead me to this site!) I have looked on version tracker but alas... not luck.

My interest in this has been sparked ever since I played Resident Evil for the Gamecube. They have such beautifully animated backgrounds in the game, and I was struck that it would look great as a desktop. Not a large movie. Just a small file that repeats like a tree blowing or something.

Animated gifs might work, but that would look like crap. I want high resolution animated backgrounds.

So if you know of anything, your help would be appreciated.

Thank you so much xaqintosh. When I get home from work, and off this "God Awful PC" I will get those. I hope running an animated wallpaper is not a system resource hog. If it is.. I guess I will buy more RAM! :)

yeah, it might be somewhat of a resource hog, but I'm not sure because I haven't tried it in a while. If you have enough ram it should be fine.

Works, It is a huge cpu hog. Is limited with what savers it runs with.

Has a huge outlook! Can't Wait!

Dose not quit right. Crashes on quit.

you could also look on versiontracker under the screensavers section, because there are other apps that show the screensaver on the background.

Thanks

I will give a look around and try all that. I have not had a chance between work and some other projects I have cooking. But once I get a break I look foward to seeing what I can do.
