"Announce" - for OS X

There used to a cool network messaging app for Mac OS 9
called "ANNOUNCE" . You type a message and it pops up on the selected computer in a network. Has anyone heard of anything similar for OS X?

Apple Remote Desktop, which lets you do all sorts of things, to computers in your network, including control them, install software on them, and lock them, has a feature that lets you send a message to selected Macs on your network. Granted, ARD is probably overkill for just this purpose, but you may want to look into it. It makes managing Macs easy.
