ANONYMOUS ftp logins requested

I really want to create a general ftp server. One with all the files i want to share and be able to download from anywhere around campus. The problem is that the only way i know how to do this is to create another OS X user and restrict their access to one directory via the "ftpchroot" file. [COLOR=orange-red]However I'd rather just have a plain old FTP user list for just ftp people[/COLOR], esp. friends. Thanks a ton in advance...

you have to edit a file called /etc/ftpusers (or something similar... now i'm not under X) there you 'll find a list of users banned from the ftp server... just remove the anonimous user!!
