Any reason to learn python?

I have been hearing a lot of praise for python out there. Is it really worth learning? Is it easy to mix C/C++ with python?
 
Ive been wondering too, as I want to make the jump from object-oriented scripting to some real programming someday. Python seems universal and well documented. Is is an easy language to learn?

after years of messing around with perl, php i discovered python and i have to say it is an amazingly easy to learn language. clean, easily readable code and easy to understand.

but the python intepreter is not as nice though as it does not support some things i would recommend compiling from source or through fink
