Any success with OpenLDAP?

It's been a while so I'll bring up this topic again:

Has anyone been able to compile OpenLDAP on OS X?

I was hoping to make up an LDAP address book tool (not just reading, but writing too), but I need an LDAP server to do it!

I got openldap to compile and pass all tests last week.

You need to use CVS to get the very latest sources though. The
released 2.0.11 was a nightmare and ultimately, a failure.
