When I spoke to smartdisc about their firefly portable firewire HD (same drive mechanism as the iPod), they said 10 and 20Gb versions (of the Drive mechanism) would be out early next year.

Maybe if/when Apple use them in the iPod you would get better value for money...?

an apple rep was by our school the other day, and i got to destroy their ipod.

its so cool, gawd, 5gb! the thumb design is so nice. and with student discount, its ONLY $360! whoooo hoo
