Up to May of this year I was a San Diego resident for many years, so I'm watching the news of the fires with dismay -- here's hoping our Southern California members are safe!
 
Hi, I'm in San Diego/North Park and the fires are causing evacuations in the north county and fwys are closed between 163 and 78 for fire crews on I-15. Rancho Bernardo has already lost 60 homes. This fire is worse than the Cedar Fire in 2003, if you remember that one.

Response to this fire is much much better (more planes and helicopters) than the last one. My family and I are staying home; I work in Rancho Bernardo and wonder if I have a job to go back to. Strange feeling and a bit scary all around.
