Anyway to remove a scratch on a studio display monitor?

I've got a 17inch studio display monitor that has managed to get a very fine (but annoying) hair line scratch in it. I've already learned that there is no front protective plastic screen that can easily be replaced, and it would cost about 400 bucks to repair! Before I learn to accept it...or fork out the cash, does anyone know of a product that can remove fine scratches from these monitors? Thanks for any input!

Here's a short thread that recommends contacting a jeweler about glass scratch removal paste.

I would be wary of doing it, though, since they mention that many monitors have a coating on the glass that may not mesh well with glass scratch removal techniques.

I did a Google search for "monitor glass scratch" and it returned a bunch of hits -- you may wanna wade through those and see if any would help!

Thanks for the links, I'll take a look. I am wary of trying anything for fear of ruining the whole screen.
