AOL keeps calling

My girlfriend and I both got calls from AOL today asking us to try out a brand new AOL for mac users only. She said we would be receiving the disk within a week and it has specials features never before seen. She said it was much different than AOL for OSX which I was just using. Then she said she would also put me on a list when they released AOL 9.0 optimized for mac. Huh, so they are giving me a new version which would be aol 8 and then in about what seems 3 to 4 months AOL 9 by then they will have AOL 11 for win. Supposedly we were going to get 3 months free... anyone know anything more about this?

Just go to your friendly local Wal-mart, and pick up an AOL 9 CD at most any checkout counter, it's free. and has an AOL for OS X installer on it. AOL for OS X is at version 10.3 now (although some will say by features, it's more like version 6 for windows, but rough parity with version 9) If that's what you have now, why bother? You can always download the latest version anyway... (keyword: update)

Sounds like the AOL rep made it a point to tell the original poster that what he would be receiving is *not* simply AOL for OS X...

If that's true or not is not my call though.

yes, true hockey... the whole point which I did not post was that I just signed up and cancelled after only 30 days so they knew I was using aol 10.3 in fact I used version 10.3 like 6 months ago it seems like... any way they kept on telling me it now has a new integrated quicktime browser and how apple and them have teamed up to deliver some new stuff. I told them that I decided to go with their cousin the road runner and then I hung up the phone.
