AOL Keyword Apple: A Mac.com Homepage!

Well, I was using a family members' AOL a account a while ago, so I decided to see what keyword: Apple was about.

I went there and noticed it looked like a regular web browser page (AOL users will know keywords are usually not webpages, more of a proprietary windowish environment.)

So for the first Window, it goes to: http://www.apple.com/r/aol/

Pretty weird. The HTML source also says it was created in GoLive 5.

Further into the keyword, I found that you're led to:

http://homepage.mac.com/appleonaol/

That's right! A mac.com web account!

Kinda weird how Apple is hosting their own web keyword, and it's accessable from anywhere in any browser as long as you know the URLs.

There are some proprietary aol:// links for the message boards and chat, but other than that, it's all html.

Thought I'd let you all know, not sure if anyone has noticed this.

wow... cool! that's probably the best looking AOL keyword thingy yet... most of them (back when i was using aol) looked like pure *-*-*-*!

Makes sense to me, they have they entire consumer line there, plain as day. Got to ease those AOL users in slowly you know....

Apple Computer, always thinkin'......:D
