Recently while moving I was "in between" ISPs, and made the fatefully bad decision of trying to use one of those free AOL CDs for dial-up. After I got my ISP back I tried using the provided Un-install function on the CD. After that I did a quick search and discovered that the installer had left a bundle in /System/Library/Extensions called com.aol.net.ppp. I deleted this directory from OS 9, but then back in X, Internet Connect tells me "An incorrect PPP option has been set. Please verfify your settings and try again."
When I called AOL support they at first denied that the installer had put the files there, then claimed they didn't support it because it was in a system directory, then told me to ask my new ISP, then HUNG UP!
Does anyone have a clue how to fix my dialup settings?
The Internet Connect Log says:
Mon Jun 30 18:08:20 2003 : Couldn't load plugin com.aol.net.ppp
when the file is missing. How do I convince Internet Connect that it doesn't need this file?
