I just downloaded the Apache Software from Versiontracker.
Installing went ok. Just clicking the pkg.
Then I used the Samba Server Config tool so set everything up.
Then I made a network to test everything.
Nothing happened. It does not work.
When I go to the terminal it says this:
[localhost:local/samba/bin] mark% ./smbstatus
Samba version 2.2.2
Service uid gid pid machine
----------------------------------------------
Failed to open byte range locking database
ERROR: Failed to initialise locking database
Can't initialise locking module - exiting
[localhost:local/samba/bin] mark%
ehhh what???
If I do a ps -ax I see:
269 ?? Ss 0:00.01 /usr/local/samba/bin/smbd -D
271 ?? Ss 0:00.09 /usr/local/samba/bin/nmbd -D
so I guess it is running....
Anybody? Why does it not work?
