App Store problem

I am running Snow Leopard OS X ver. 10.6.8 on my iMac and want to upgrade to Lion. I understand I have to go to the App Store to do this but when I click on App Store in the Apple menu I get the following message:

App Store quit unexpectedly and in the comments below "Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSImageCacheException', reason: 'Cannot lock focus on image <NSImage ox100394180 Size=(0, 0)

How can I get to the App Store?

Got this on another thread, which will likely fix your issue:
The quickest way to try to fix this is to download the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo and manually install the update. It should fill in any missing gaps. I suggest dragging & dropping the Mac App Store into the Trash before the installation to let the update install a fresh version of the MAS.

Thank you DeltaMac. I had to download the update Combo twice but finally got it installed and am now able to get to the App Store, however it doesn't show up under the Apple Menu anymore but I can get to it in the Applications folder.

Thanks again for the help.
