Apple Certification

I'm not too sure where this goes on this forum but I'm going to try here first.

I'm kind of tired having to bring my computer to the Apple store to get repaired. I noticed that I could get cirtification on apple hardware to be able to rip out and replace a piece of hardware without having to void the warranty. I just don't know exactly which certification I need to get to do that

Can I bypass the course and write the test? If I can then is there a practise test I can do?

You would have to become an Apple Certified Technician

Not sure if you can bypass the training and just take the test now.

When I took it, I could have just taken the test without buying the Training program.

Don't know of any practice tests available other than in the training material.

Also, I believe I have heard that even with the Apple Certified Technician, you have to be working for an 'authorized apple service center' to deal with Apple Care and other things like that.

When doing the certifications the first time, you need to do the course.
When you do the recertifications, those are open book tests, and you need no additional training (except on your own time etc, or somewhere where you have access to service training online).
