Previously, iBook were separated from PowerBook and even earlier eMac were separated from iMac. This was a School - Home - Business separation.

This is not the case anymore as can be seen below:
There are only 3 categories left: Portable, Desktop and PowerMac G5.

Well, if you wanna look at it in terms of categories, then there are two: Home and Pro, each divided into two sub-categories: desktop and mobile.

The home, or non-pro category would include the iMac, eMac and iBook. The eMac, of course, was aimed and sold only to educational markets, but due to demand, was released to the non-pro market as well.

The pro category would include the PowerMacintosh G5 and the PowerBook.

Then there are accessories: the iPod, iSight, cordless keyboard/mice, etc...

You could also divide them by their TASTE. Give each one a lick, and put it in salty, sweet, or sour.

Classify each by mineral content, or viscosity, or molality, or water displacement. All you'll have is a bunch of useless statistics.

I'm not sure why they're differentiating the G5 from the "Desktop" line, seeing as the G5 is the definition of desktop.
