I bought this apple laptop that is an older model. I just want to use it to look at dvd movies. This is a strange computer and hard to navigate. How do i find the cd drive on this computer. On a regular laptop you would go to my computer and it would show all of the drives but i cant find the drive on this computer. I put one of the movie disc that came with it in the computer so i know it will sow a dvd but when i put one of the regular dvd in i cant get it to play. Please respond to bball82629@aol.com

Hi Paul,

What OS is it running?
Check from upper left corner, [apple logo] > about this Mac. You should also be able to see the system profiler from there to confirm hardware specs.

What system does it list? 9.x.x or 10.x.x? This will define how we navigate and use it.

We need first the OS version, and secondly a bit more specs of how the model was shipped.
Is it this model?

We don't respond to e-mail addresses, we respond in your thread on here.
The "toilet seat" iBook G3 series did not allow DVD playback AFAIK. Your CD or DVD drive is not shown as a "drive". (It's illogical to show the drive when no disk is inside. So the Mac doesn't do that. It just shows you the actual CD or DVD in the file browser called "Finder".)

What I don't love is people re-posting their original questions after answers have been given. READ.
